Hello everyone...I'm hear to say that I'm doing really well after surgery.  Of course I've had the best doctor and nurse take care of  (my mom and dad)!  Also alot of pain killers.  Most of the time I've been asleep or dopy, but now I'm getting up and around my house.  And everyday I am able to do more and more things.  Like today I was able to get out of bed by myself!  I know that sound pathetic but its starts with the small victories. I've been so bored though, I'm house bound.  Though my mother has been great, I'm ready to see new faces and get out and about.  But the problem living in a small town, is that there isn't much to do anyhow.

My grandmother (Nana) came on Thursday and brought me one of  her famous cakes.  Also Matt came down for the weekend to keep me company.  My dad did get me a wheel chair so I was able to go to our Town's Fair...the Poultry Festival...which is my favorite time of year.  It is just a small town fair, but it's so cute, you now everyone watch the local acts sing or the clucking contest, eat the wonderful fair food and if you are brave enough you can ride the rides.

Currently I'm watching the Astro's and I'm praying this will be the year they will go to the World Series.

Surgery Tommorrow at 10 am.  I'm pretty nervous about it even though it is just my knee, it's the first time I've had surgery!! So please keep me in your prayers.

On another note, I'm truelly living in a black hole.  By now I'm used to not having my cell phone work becuase my house is out the service area, but today consturtion workers accidently cut the main telephone wire that connects the east part of the county to ciliziation!!  So now I have no land line! This sucks!  I'm ready to have my knee working and then get a job and move to Dallas and Fort Worth, where my cell phone works, my friends live, fast internet, and plenty of restraunts to eat at and things to do after 8pm!

Great Holiday Weekend and please don’t hate me when I tell you about it.

Well 3 weeks ago my mother and I got the call from our best family friends to join then in Disney World to Surprise their mother for her 50th Birthday. We were the only friends they invited, so of course we said yes…and if you know anything about me is that I LOVE Disney World!!! Also it doesn’t hurt that we will be staying in the Grand Floridian (my favorite Hotel in the world) and it is all paid for except for your plane tickets. Well I can handle that…I mean I felt bad for going especially after Katrina hit, but It was planned for before hand and It was going to be rude to cancel at the last min.

So we boarded our plane with excitement at 5 am!!! (So that means I woke up at 2 because I had to pack and we live over an hour away from airport), except only to find that in Houston (our connecting flight) they had given away our tickets because the computers are down in LA because of the storm, so Mom and I were separated and I sat beside a nice father and his crazy children also heading to Disney World for their first time. I shared all my knowledge with him and he seemed very appreciative, but his kid was not so entertained he kept running up and down the aisle and were hitting people as he ran…Really who lets their children do that. One more reason why I think kids ought to have a special place reserved for them on every plane ride…IN THE BACK!!! I think I will start a petition…so please let me know if you think it’s a good thing, I think they can have games, a TV channel for cartoons and it would be away so no one care if they screamed!

Anyway, it was a marvelous weekend! Jean (the birthday girl) was totally surprised!!! I rode all the new rides (Epcot has a one where you drive a space shuttle and you actually encounter several G forces!!!), ate LOTS of good food and lots of sweets as snacks all day long (don’t you love ice cream on a hot day), watched the Amazing fireworks every night! Really, just amazing the timing is perfect with the music they are huge, and the fire works themselves now have shapes when they blow up…like hearts, stars, roses, and faces…it is worth the firework show alone to go to Disney World. It was just Magical!!! And yes, I did take some pictures with some characters…Mickey, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, and Mary Poppins to name my favorites!

BUT IT GETS BETTER!!!! The Baldwinds asked my mother if we wanted to stay with them an extra day! So they invited us to their Walt Disney Suite!!! Really their hotel suite had 12 dozen roses, amazing bathrooms and bedrooms, personal photos of Walt when he was young, we had our own servent…and most importantly...Orpah had stayed in that very same suite…so you know it was amazing an lush…I mean when am I ever going to have that experience again!!! But that isn’t all…NO WE HAD A PRIVATE JET FLY US HOME!!!!!!! It belonged to KARL MALONE, it sat 9 people, had a full bar, everyone had their own DVD screen, and the leather seats were the softest things I’ve sat on in my life!!!!! Only wish everyone can one day have that experience.

I’m so blessed to have the Baldwinds as our friends, and I can not thank them enough for including my mother and I for your family surprise birthday party. We shared so many memories that I will never forget…and I now know that wishes do come true at Disney World!!! So everyone wish on the next star you see!

Well for the past day I've stayed glued to the TV watching the News.  I simply can not believe what I've been seeing, my birth state and the state I spent 1/2 of my life is truelly in need of help.  I've decided not to sit around anymore and I'm volunteering in Shreveport where there are over 20,000 refugees there!!!  My father and some other medical people are flying down to see what they can do to help.

I truelly can not imagine being told that you can't even go back to your city for 2 months, these poor  people can't even check on their home, property!  What are these people going to do, stay, live for the next couple of months!  LSUS is one of the many shelters around my area, but they are also opening up their class rooms to college students from that area.  Everyone has their personal story, and even in Shreveport we are being negatively affected, many little stores can't run their credit card machines because they are based in New Orleans, internet is slow because some is routed to New Orleans.  It is just crazy.  But amist all of this there is a great story of love!  People are volunteering hundreds of hours, and money to help these people out.  Some people are letting strangers stay in their houses.

Many questions come to my mind while watching...why did so many people ignore the warnings and stay in New Orleans!!!  I know it is a very poor city, but many stayed out of stubbornness...My father was talking to a girl my age in the ER who was there because a leg problem, she and her family left New Orleans, but her father stayed despite their pleas...while she was in the ER on Monday she recieved a call and it was her father, who called to tell her that he loved her and that the waters were past the roof and it was getting hard to hold on...then the phone died...they don't know if he dropped it in one last attempt to hold on to life, or simply he lost the fiight and fell into the murky waters.  I only pray that family will be reunited!  But why...why risk your life for worldly things!!  I can understand a  Herican that is a level 1-2 but NOT a level 5!!! NOT after the news showed that New Orleans would almost definately flood! I just can't level with it!  Also if they did stay why not make sure they had something that would float if the worst did happen...it is like these people stayed and didn't even think of what they might need!!  But worst of all I can't understand why people with small children would stay!!  Why didn't they go to the Superdom!!

What would you take if you were told to leave your home?  I of course would take my pets, and If I lived in Center still we decided we would bring the horse tralior with 4 of our horses because we have living compartment, with beds, showers, and small kitchen, of course my dad would bring guns, and medicine, gas for our truck and generator, food (for us and pets) and water. I also would want to bring some photos.

What  about the all the looting...I only truelly support it if they people were need water and food, but when people are going into Foot Locker and stealing 10 pairs of shoes that is unnessary and just human greed!

The storm blew in the best and worst of people, and it will be along time until we recover and until then I will do all I can to help out and of course not to sound like a cliche but also pray!

Once again I'm sorry I haven't updated in forever...things have been crazy. Since I arrived back in the US, I went straight to Waco for my graduation, then I had the process of moving me out of my apt in Waco, find a job, and then go to the doctor MRI and then to find out I do need knee surgery. Oh the joy!!

Graduation was beyond great I had my whole family there!! I must admit I was nervous I haven't had my whole family at an event sense my high school graduation! Oh and I had the biggest ordeal to get my youngest sister to graduation, because her mother didn't want my sister around my real father...it was drama, but after pleading, yelling and finally tears we were able to get her there. I'm so excited that everyone made it... it was also the first time Matt has meet my other side of my family. We were able to get everyone to stay in the same hotel that night, and I planned to have a game night as a way for people to mingle and visit with each other. It turned out to be a great success!! Though my Dad for some reason was acting very distance it was still a great time. Graduation it self was long and boring, but the night before Cathrine Winston and myself all entertained ourselves by beadalzing my graduation cap with sparkles on it. It was faboulus...you were able to pick me out from the crowd, that and my wonderful shoes. I was so nervous when I was about to cross the stage...I stode there thinking...smile and wave at the camera, turn the tassel, take the diploma with the left hand, shake the dean's with the right, and don't trip!!! I'm happy to say that everything went smoothly.
I do have one complaint...The special music at every Baylor graduation is horrible. Lucky me had a male tenor sing "Take me to the River", I wanted to take him to the river and drown him...it was horriable!!! Really is that the best Baylor University can come up with!! Rememeber we are striving to become a 1st tier University...I think finding a good singer for graduation should be on the 2012 program.

After graduation we all went to eat at the Elite Grill, it was great. I just floated around the room and thanked everyone for coming, took a ton of pictures (I think I had a perminant smile plastered on my face...for one my gradmother is known to take the pictures at the oddest times...usually when you are about to take a bite of something). John, made a wonderful little speech and I and most of the ladies eneded up getting all teary eyed. Later that night, I went and celebrated at Treffs one last time, and sang to the Piano Man.

Question why is it that when I move it is always extremely hot, or rainy...This time did not fail, for it was both..and the humidity was horriable. I was so lucky to have Matt and my Brother there to do my heavy lifting. My mother found me a storage shed while I was away in Europe...little did she know though she chose one almost in Crawford!! We had to drive forever to drop off my stuff. Another question...I've only lived in this apt for 15 months, and I did kept it clean, but I accumulated so much crap!!! I filled so many trash bags of random crap...where did it all come from! In my next apt. I need to work on not being such a pack rat.

Okay, sorry but I've now got to run, I've got a meeting with a future employeer, wish me luck!
